Constitution

Constitution

The United States was founded on the idea that government power should be:

  • limited,
  • accountable,
  • transparent,
  • and restrained by law.

Over time, however, power has increasingly concentrated within:

  • federal agencies,
  • corporate institutions,
  • intelligence systems,
  • financial networks,
  • political parties,
  • and unelected bureaucracies.

Citizens are often told they live in a free constitutional republic while simultaneously facing:

  • mass surveillance,
  • censorship,
  • endless wars,
  • corruption,
  • shrinking privacy,
  • concentrated media power,
  • and declining democratic accountability.

The Fifth Republic believes constitutional government must be restored — not merely celebrated symbolically while its principles erode in practice.

Restore Civil Liberties

A free society depends on the protection of fundamental liberties.

These include:

  • freedom of speech,
  • freedom of thought,
  • freedom of assembly,
  • freedom of conscience,
  • privacy rights,
  • due process,
  • and protection from government overreach.

Modern citizens increasingly face pressure from:

  • censorship systems,
  • surveillance technologies,
  • political intimidation,
  • algorithmic manipulation,
  • and coordinated efforts to suppress dissenting viewpoints.

The Fifth Republic supports restoring robust protections for civil liberties in both the physical and digital worlds.

Citizens should not fear:

  • speaking openly,
  • questioning authority,
  • criticizing institutions,
  • or expressing unpopular opinions.

A constitutional republic cannot survive without freedom of thought and expression.

Restore Democratic Accountability

Many citizens increasingly feel disconnected from political power.

Elections are heavily influenced by:

  • money,
  • media systems,
  • lobbying networks,
  • party machines,
  • corporate influence,
  • and institutional gatekeepers.

Meanwhile, ordinary citizens often struggle to:

  • gain ballot access,
  • influence legislation,
  • hold officials accountable,
  • or meaningfully challenge entrenched systems.

The Fifth Republic supports reforms aimed at restoring genuine democratic participation, including:

  • transparency,
  • fair ballot access,
  • open debate,
  • anti-corruption measures,
  • campaign finance reform,
  • and stronger public oversight.

Government should answer to citizens — not merely donors, corporations, bureaucracies, and political insiders.

Limit Concentrated Power

Concentrated power threatens liberty regardless of whether it exists in:

  • government,
  • corporations,
  • media systems,
  • financial institutions,
  • or technology monopolies.

Modern institutions increasingly possess the ability to:

  • monitor behavior,
  • shape public opinion,
  • censor information,
  • influence elections,
  • manipulate markets,
  • and control access to communication.

The Fifth Republic believes constitutional government requires limits on concentrated power wherever it appears.

No institution should become so powerful that it operates beyond scrutiny or accountability.

This includes:

  • intelligence agencies,
  • multinational corporations,
  • monopolies,
  • financial institutions,
  • and politically connected organizations.

A free society requires decentralization, transparency, and meaningful checks on institutional authority.

Restore Constitutional Balance

The Constitution established separate branches of government to prevent the concentration of power.

Over time, however:

  • executive authority has expanded,
  • emergency powers have multiplied,
  • undeclared wars have become normalized,
  • and unelected agencies increasingly shape public policy.

The Fifth Republic supports restoring constitutional balance by:

  • strengthening legislative oversight,
  • limiting emergency powers,
  • reexamining executive authority,
  • and increasing transparency within federal institutions.

Government powers should remain subject to:

  • law,
  • public scrutiny,
  • and constitutional limits.

Temporary crises should not become permanent justifications for expanding centralized authority.

Protect Citizens from Corruption and Surveillance

Modern citizens are increasingly monitored through:

  • digital tracking,
  • financial systems,
  • social media,
  • telecommunications,
  • artificial intelligence,
  • and mass data collection.

At the same time, corruption frequently flourishes behind secrecy, bureaucracy, and institutional protection.

The Fifth Republic supports:

  • stronger privacy protections,
  • intelligence oversight,
  • whistleblower protections,
  • anti-corruption enforcement,
  • and transparency laws that expose abuse of power.

Citizens should not be treated as:

  • data points,
  • surveillance targets,
  • or subjects to be managed psychologically.

Government exists to serve the people — not monitor and manipulate them.

Constitutional Government Requires an Informed Citizenry

No constitution can protect liberty if citizens become:

  • apathetic,
  • fearful,
  • manipulated,
  • uninformed,
  • or psychologically dependent on centralized systems.

The Fifth Republic believes constitutional government ultimately depends on citizens capable of:

  • critical thinking,
  • independent judgment,
  • civic participation,
  • and moral courage.

A healthy republic requires more than elections.

It requires an informed population willing to:

  • defend liberty,
  • question authority,
  • challenge corruption,
  • and hold institutions accountable.

Seattle

Ironically, liberal Seattle thumbs its nose at the Constitution with the same disdain as its right-wing peers. Maybe I should stop referring to it as liberal Seattle and call a spade a spade: Seattle is a surprisingly right-wing metropolis with a mixture of citizens who only pretend to be liberals and truly liberal citizens who lack the intellect or sanity to engage in rational thought. At the very least, they don’t appear to have any ability to challenge their corporate masters.

As a former teacher with the Seattle School District who has run for public office, I can state with authority that Seattle’s electoral system is as corrupt and dysfunctional as its public schools. Seattle’s media are similarly derelict, and the corruption in the Seattle Police Department is legendary, requiring federal intervention. The gap between the rich and poor has become a gulf, leaving Seattle ever more tightly controlled by Jews, corporations, and the super rich.

The situation is so severe, it’s frankly difficult to brainstorm solutions, short of blowing up the entire city and rebuilding it from scratch.

The Goal

The Fifth Republic seeks to restore a constitutional system rooted in:

  • liberty,
  • accountability,
  • transparency,
  • democratic participation,
  • and limits on concentrated power.

The goal is not chaos or extremism.

The goal is a society where:

  • citizens remain free,
  • institutions remain accountable,
  • rights remain protected,
  • and government once again serves the public rather than entrenched systems of power.

A constitutional republic survives only when its principles are actively defended.
